Music Review: An indie rap masterpiece - east coast meets west!

I became a Kool Kieth fan late in the game. I knew him way back in the late 80s when he was with Ultramagnetic MCs. But then in the fall of 2003, I was in the now closed Tower Records on 4th & Broadway, browsing through the hip hop section, and a I saw two kids picking-up this CD, saying how they heard it in a friend's car and what an incredible find it was. After I read the reviews here at Amazon, I immediately ordered it an it opened-up a whole world of underground rap for me. This tremendous project from Kutmaster Kurt's Threshold Recordings pairs Bronx veteran Kool Keith and Bay Area rapper, Motion Man, providing an absolutely beautiful flow of rhymes and lyrics over Ktmasta Kurt's stellar old school-style production, which mixes beautiful beats, analog cutting & scratching, and samples from old kung fu and crime story vinyl. Every track is entertaining and clever. Every track has humor and a simply great tag-team exchange between Keith and Motion. You can still find QuickTime music videos for this album over at the Threshold Recordings web site. But get this album first! If you are new to Kool Keith, this is a fine place to start. Then work backwards....get Black Elvis, Matthew, Dr. Dooom, and Dr. Octagon. Branch out and pick-up Deltron 3030. Then move forward with Clearing the Field, Pablito's Way, Diesel Truckers, Project Polaroid, Nogato Road, and Dr. Dooom 2. Or if you have any of the releases I've listed, and don't have this one, then you need to get it pronto! It's a masterpiece!
And remember...there is no such thing as trip-hop.
