Music Review: Sincerity Over Three Decades

It is wonderful to hear these songs done with such wonderful simplicity and sincerity. The current disc is a compendium of Christmas songs from three different recording sessions in three different decades. Anderson's singing is remarkably lovely and consistent. The earlier sessions were with piano only while the sessions from the 1960s feature a chorus and chamber orchestra. (Apparently Anderson and Franz Rupp recorded them separately at Anderson's home studio in Connecticut and then the ensembles were overlaid in the RCA Studios in New York. The result is surprisingly spontaneous sounding and doesn't seem in the least synthetic.)
The sound recordings are good of their respective decades.
There are no liner notes,the supporting performers are unidentified, and dates of recording sessions are not given.
