Music Review: Passed on thru the generations!

I'm on the bluetooth with my 43 yr. old daughter in Phoenix. Her husband is in San Francisco and they just linked me into their conversation - he's at a Neko Case concert with his iPhone so we can hear her... I told her she sounds like Maria Muldaur! I sent her the link to this CD and she actually remembered me playing the cassette tape in 1974 when it first came out. So she's just ordered it for me and for her. I'm so happy to have it again. Well, I'm from Tennessee and it holds a strong place in my heart but I so love her voice, her pitch range - everything about it is fantastic. As many people I've played this CD for, not one person hasn't loved it and asked for the info to buy it for themselves.

Description of Maria Muldaur
Don't let the name fool you: this rare Italian songbird was born Maria D'Amato. Muldaur is to white female pop singers what Anita O'Day is to white female jazz singers--way hipper than the herd. She recorded in the '60s with the Even Dozen and Jim Kweskin jug bands and her then-husband, Geoff Muldaur, before going out on her own with this 1973 recording. Sidemen include people like Jim Dickinson, Spooner Oldham, Jim Keltner, Mac Rebennack, Ray Brown, and Dave Holland. Among the tunes are Jimmie Rodgers's "Any Old Time," Dolly Parton's "My Tennessee Mountain Home," and the album's hit, "Midnight at the Oasis."
