Music reviews of Underworld EvolutionMusic Review: Dang...close to perfect soundtrack Rating: 5 Stars
I love it when a really kick @$$ movie puts out a soundtrack that lives up to the hype...like Saw II did by delivering a soundtrack that was close to, if not better than the movie...And here's another one that just makes the whole soundtrack buying process much easier. Heres my take, track by track...
1. "The Undertaker" (Renholder Mix) - Puscifer
This is freaking awsome...I mean, I want to know when these guys are putting out a CD...I've looked and can't find anything yet they need to have atrack list somewhere since they keep turning out awsome remixes of their $hit on soundtracks like this one...
2. "Morning After" - Chester Bennington vs. Julien-K
The return of Chester of Linkin Park...I'm just curious when they are putting out a new CD or if Chester has decided to go solo...either way it's worth the trip. Chester does well here on a techno backdrop. It's a good song with decent vocals, but I do have to say that I didn't think it sounded like Chester at first...the end, the bridge where he harmonizes...that's where he sounds like the Chester I remember...
3. "Where Do I Stab Myself In The Ears" (The Legion of Doom Remix) - Hawthorne Heights
Both songs remixed by The Legion of Doom are great, all the way around. This one is awsome, and honestly, I thought this was Chester until I read the back of the CD case. This song is great and gives a great vibe to the undertone of the whole CD...dark and fast and in your face...
4. "To The End" (RnR Cheryl Mix) - My Chemical Romance
The original was great, but the remix is even better. The "uhwa'oh" part is cool and just adds something diferent to the soundtrack. This is one band that is here to stay.
5. "Vermillion pt 2" (Bloodstone Mix) - Slipknot
I was never a fan of this song when Vol. 3 was released, but this version is mezmerizing...I mean, I'm titilated by it. Corey's vocals are chilling and the music is just perfectly adjusted...Adds a creepy vibe to the aura of the CD...
6. "Burn" (Alleged Remix) - Alkaline Trio
I am a fan of SOME of Alkaline's work and I have to say that this is one I'm a fan of. This remix may seem out of place compared to the fury of some of the other tracks here but it fits well and adds a nice flare to the CD as a whole...
7. "The Last Sunrise" (Dusk Mix) - Aiden
The return of Skinny Puppy and it's everything you could hope fore...GREAT GREAT song and it fits so well to what you'd think a soundtrack about a vampire movie should sound like...PERFECT choice!
8. "Bite To Break Skin" (The Legion of Doom Remix) - Senses Fail
Probably my favorite track here...it's just perfect if every way from the vocals to the beats to the riffs to the production...clean and eeire and bulstourus and furious and in your freaking face!
9. "Her Portrait In Black" - Atreyu
LOve this band, love this song...nuff said
10. "Washing Away Me In The Tides" - Trivium
And the soundtrack hits slump...it's just generic metal with no real UMPH...skit it...
11. "Eternal Battle" - Mendozza
Same here...skip it...
12. "Our Truth" - Lacuna Coil
Awsome...I love this band, and this song is NO exception...Great vocals on both singers parts and the song is unique enough to stand on it's own. Great choice again...
13. "Cat People" (Putting Out The Fire) - Gosling
Does not fit with the vibe of the rest of the CD BUT and a big BUT...I still like the song
14. "Why Are You Up" - Bobby Gold
Great technoish industrial track...nothing more nothing less, but it's a nice addition to the already HOT cd...
15. "Suicide" - Meat Beat Manifesto
It's not terrible but I will say I expected more from this band...I've heard them grace the tracks of other studio efforts and rock the house but here they appear too repetitive and bored almost...like I said, not TERRIBLE but nothing to write home about...
16. "HW2" - Cradle Of Filth
Hate this song...I thought this band was supposed to be HARD, HEAVY and INTENCE but this track comes off like The Darkness trying to regurgitate they're last album...SUCKS so don't bother with it...
So there you have it...a few misteps...three to be exact, but 3 bad and 13 great is pretty good turn don't you think?

Description of Underworld Evolution "Underworld" and its accompanying soundtrack albums are perhaps the most thoughtful, valued and respected genre film soundtracks in the proud tradition of "The Matrix" and "The Crow." As "Underworld: Evolution" continues the saga of the story, so does the new Soundtrack Album continue the tone set musically. On this new album is the exclusive debut solo recording from Chester Bennington, and a new exclusive recording by Puscifer. Chester Bennington is best known as the lead singer of iconic rock band Linkin Park. Likewise Pusicfer who contributed to the first "Underworld" album, is a new outlet for the highly respected, and commercially successful music genius Maynard James Keenan. Maynard is best known as the frontman of both Tool and A Perfect Circle. Also a contributing member of Puscifer is Danny Lohner, the famed former Nine Inch Nails guitarist who is also a sought out songwriter, producer and remixer. Every song on the album is exclusive to this set at the time of release. In addition to those above are exclusive contributions from such varied and respected artists as My Chemical Romance, Slipknot, Meat Beat Manifesto, Cradle Of Filth as well as some the most exciting new emerging and critically acclaimed bands such as Atreyu, Hawthorn Heights, Senses Fail, Alkaline Trio, Aiden, Lacuna Coil, Trivium and more. Many of these tracks proudly feature exclusive remixes by some of the most respected and sought after talents such as Danny Lohner, Chris Vrenna, cEvin Key and The Legion Of Doom. Both Danny Lohner and Chris Vrenna bring unique musical experience and sensibilities as former members of seminal rock band Nine Inch Nails. cEvin Key is the co-founder of Skinny Puppy and an established artist in his own right, remixing various artists of stature and releasing many solo albums under different titles. Jack Dangers new exclusive Meat Beat Manifesto song features the artists first use of vocal performance in over six years, which is a rare treat indeed for fans
