Music Review: No Longer Scared If I Fall

Well, first of all this Maxi-Single signaled one of Peter Rauhofer's most dreadful mixes ever in his long career- I mean this is the same Peter Rauhofer who back in 99 was critically acclaimed to be one of the best DJ/Producers around when he remixed Cher's ''Believe'' which made the track a double dance floor hit (for the second time round). The remix of ''Nothing Fails'' he has here sounds like the unreleased promo remix he did for ''Revenge'' back then during the Drowned World Tour, except?- the unreleased promo Mix of ''Revenge'' is (completely) flawless compared to this one. Boy...I'm really disappointed in Peter Rauhofer this time...

Nevins Big Room Rock Mix, is deliciously enhanced, which sounds allot like a Ralphi Rosario mix, I feel that the ''Big Room Rock Mix'' is a much more solid and pleasurable Mix compared to the ''Global Dub Mix'' which is ok- I usually skip that mix.

Tracy Young's Mix, is without doubt the most accessible and serious mix when it comes to the much more dark house mixes, Hardcore ravers of Electronic/House will definitely find this useful.

Jackie's Mix, - Is ok, its average sounding a bit bland I'd say, A good DJ/Producer like IE; (Thunderpuss, Mac Quayle, Scumfrog) would've done a good job to spin this mix, maybe chuck in some more subjective enhancements.

Back to Peter Rauhofer, however you will notice this Mix is more of the efficient work Rauhofer offers us (generally), its far away from his mess of ''Nothing Fails''. The remix of ''Nobody Knows Me'' is a spruced up and enhanced version of the original, it features some of the best moments on this CD especially when Madonna sings ''This World Is Not So Kind...etc'', this mix would put you in mind of Simply Red's ''Fareground''.

Don't be expecting anything in vein of the extraordinary ''What It Feels Like For A Girl'' Mix which was remixed by Above & Beyond with the original production & inspiration of Paul Oakenfold in 2001. ''Nobody Knows Me (Above & Beyond Mix)'' is ok, not as good as the WIFLFAG Mix. I usually skip this.

Mount Sims Italo Kiss Mix, Ok...here's the bad apple (even worse than Rauhofer's mix of ''Nothing Fails''), this is really a terrible mix, I can't even listen to it in one sitting, Madonna is experiencing one of her most grave moments ever (''vocally'' speaking), its really bad stuff here. However the ''Mount Sims Old School Mix'' is much better and quite a cool mix, which can be found on the ''Remixed & Revisited'' EP.

This CD however is a huge disappointment, I found the ''Hollywood'' maxi-single to be far superior to this one.
