Music Review: Mixed feelings

This is the third Los Lobos CD I purchase sung in Spanish and composed
of the music they are so brilliant in: traditional Mexican folk music!
Their "Del Este de Los Angeles" was the first all Spanish debut and
is still the best one by far, then we had "La Pistola y El Corazón"
also classified with 5 stars although being "too short" (only 9 songs,
and now this third one called "Acoustic en Vivo". The first 3 songs
are absolutely fantastic with that wonderful "jarocho" like guitar
pickin' which they do even better than traditional Mexican groups and
which they repeat with "La Guacamaya" and "La Pistola y el Corazón".
This certainly would have been another 5 star CD but they suddenly
commit a mistake, to my opinion, by singing another 3 typical traditional
Mexican songs....in English! Even if you're not familiar with this music,
singing Mexican songs in English hurts the hearing. You immediatley
notice something's wrong. Can you imagine a typical blues, country or
American folk song in another language? Horrifying ain't it? Well
that's the case here: totally out of place. Unfortunately the reason
why, for the first time, I can't give a Los Lobos CD 5 stars. Besides
that, the presentation is inexistant. Just a black paper inside with
no information! Who are the songwriters? When were these songs recorded?
A real pity.
