Music Review: "there was barely room to breathe... getting the skeptic to believe"

There's a depth to Rapp's CD that is missing from so many albums currently out there. Double Entendres dot the music, allowing the casual listener to enjoy a CD that musically is a cross between REM and Ben Folds.
In "Look Around", Rapp makes use of more complex rhythmic stylings to show a degree of awkwardness that one would feel in such a situation.
"Always" could fit perfectly on a Ben Folds album. Musically and lyrically, it's fairly similar to Ben Folds' solo albums. As I'm a fan of Ben Folds, this is a plus for me!
"Just Some Guy" Makes you remember that warm fuzzy feeling of falling in love, over and over. Especially falling in love with a significant other for the second, third, or seventy fifth time you wonder how you met someone so special.
The lyrics of "Goodbye" are familiar to anyone who's ever slammed the door for effect- saying everything you ever thought that you wanted to say to the other person, never having said those hurtful words before.
"Room To Breathe" - so many thoughts- a make up song? a depressive pity-party song? a song about a song? Whatever it is, it sends a chill down my spine.
"Lesson #1" -To tell the truth is lesson #1. Good advice, Anthony.
"Visits to you"- "Is this another time- or is it the last time/ How much more time? When will time take away my visits to you?" How many ways can you take this? While this may be referring to something in his own personal life- it's pretty applicable to all. No Day but Today.
"Out out..." I confess, I confess- this song gets me each time. Use of words spoken in faster rhythm in the middle of the phrases adds something to the song, as it speeds to the the conclusion, gaining speed verse by verse until the whispered voices at the end keep asking "where did my friends go?"
Overall, this album is a winner. If you don't want to listen closely for lyrical play, it would be decent background music. If you're looking for a more intelligent alternative/rock album to listen more critically to the instrumentation,phrasing, and use of wordplay to create an uncommon, non-generic album, this would be a great choice.
