Music Review: They just keep getting better and better

With the release of this album you wonder can Lonestar get any better. Well to answer the truth yes they can and they do. This album is typical of what you would come to expect from a band with 7 total number one hits and four straight from there last album. With I'm already there shooting up the charts to number one in about 11 weeks has to tell you something about Lonestar and I'm already there. As an album this is as good as it gets in my opinion. From the beginning when you put the CD in your Player and Out Go the Lights starts playing you know your going to be hooked. I feel that Unusually Unusual is going to be another great number one and Not a Day Goes By and I want to be the one could be great radio releases and will solidify another radio ballad for these swooning country balladeers. The song With Me I feel is a reminiscent country dance club 2 step that will be another proven number one on radio also. Must be Love sounds very much like another great line dance song, in addition to Every Little Thing She Does is another great country line dance song, as for the closing song Like a good Cowboy is a thrilling and fun romp that any fan will love. To say, this album does it all, it's infectuous and a really thrilling beam of country music that any fan of Lonely Grill should bye, and if you want to know I think this album is so much creatively better then Lonely Grill, and gives me the fill of what I've come to expect from Lonestar and to know that each album is better than the last one. In closing, Amazed 8 week number one run, I feel could be in Jepordy with the current single I'm already there, and to tell you Lonestar is the band that could break that record.
Description of I'm Already There
Import pressing of the Country stars 2001 album includes the bonus track, 'No Greater Love'. 13 tracks in all including the number #1 country hit 'I'm Already There'. 2001.In the Mark McGuinn-penned "Unusually Unusual," lead singer Richie McDonald swoons over a girl who's "absolutely unpredictable." If only the same could be said of I'm Already There, which fulfills every expectation one could have of a Lonestar album. As usual, the band's ordinariness is delivered at a highly competent level, and the recordings here are all catchy all the time. The band rocks out in an agreeably familiar way, making equal use of country, pop, and AOR conventions, and McDonald can hit any note he wants if he's given a running start--as on the romanticized rationalizations of a power ballad called "I'm Already There," this album's bid for a hit of "Amazed" proportions. The disc's most surprising moment, "Without You," is also its most disappointing. After a mumbled, emotionally complex verse ("Hurt, cry, pray to die / That's all I've got left to do"), McDonald and his mates suddenly launch into an inexplicably bombastic chorus that sounds like its never even been introduced to its own depressive heart. --David Cantwell
