Canadian Music Store Music Reviews of Violent Acts of BeautyMusic Review: Sorry, just cannot get into this
There is a lot of hype surrounding this band it seems, and being into this kind of music I figured I'd give them a chance. I found this album at a used CD store and figured I'd give it a try. While this isn't the worst thing I have ever heard, I had much higher hopes than what I got. I wasn't personally crazy about the political lyrics and that has to be one of the biggest turn offs for me. Political music just is not my thing. Though not all the songs are political, that seems to be the general driving force behind the band. As for the music, it wasn't as groundbreaking as I had expected. Seans singing is alright at times, but otherwise I felt much of the music was no better than average. Pretty generic and unsurprising really. Had it not been for the political lyrics, I might be able to give this two stars, but by the end of the album it just felt like a completly forgettable experience. |
