Music Review: My first real metal cd...ever!!!!

I remember when I got this cd.It was March 20, 2004, almost two years ago. You see, I was quite ignorant of metal; sure, I knew of Tool, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Coalchamber, etc. Even though I knew of those groups, I never really paid attention to them. Metal was more of a curiosity to me because I listened to a bunch of rapcore groups then (thankfully excluding limp bizkit).So one day I went into a Lifeway store to see if they had EastWest's Hope In anguish cd. Fortunately they did not; instead, as I was about to leave, out of the cornerof my eye I saw two Living Sacrifice cds. A week before, when I was looking up stuff about Eastwest's H.I.A. cd on the internet, I came across L.S. (Living Sacrifice for short). I didn't bother to listen to any sound clips, so I didn't know what these guys sounded like. So there I was with a choice to make at Lifeway: which L.S. cd would I get first, because I had only enough to get one. The choices were this cd and ther Inhabit disk. This cd was 16.98 and Inhabit wasonly 9.99. I decided to get this cd first because I figured that this one was better. Oh, how ignorant was I of the ways of metal then! Anyway I chose this one and decided to get Inhabit later. I went up to register and the clerk goes :"These guys are loud" (well somethiing like that).And I'm like ,"I know!" ( I figured they must have sounded like Korn or Demon Hunter (sick band!) or something). So I paid for it and got in the car,opened it, put it in my cd walkman, put the headphones on my ears,and pressed play. Boy was I blown away!I had never owned anything this hard before. I was like I can't beleive I own something this hard! Needless to say I was hooked and have been not only a fan of this band but also of the whole metal genre ever since. As for the music, it is an awsome metalcore cd and even though it's from 2000, it is still a lot better than most of the cds that have been put out buy this becoming increasingly stale genre. This is L.S.'s second most technical album to date (I think it ties with nonexsistent and only beaten by Inhabit). So do yourself a favore, go get this cd if you do not own it. By the way, L.S. is probably my favorite band and one of the best underground metal bands of all time.
