BOUGHT THE PBS SPECIAL "LADIES OF BROADWAY"..FOR JENNIFER HOLIDAY'S "AND I AM TELLING YOU"..AND I AM TELLING YOU IS THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME.DREAMGIRLS .BUT THEN CAME THE REAL DIAMOND IN THE CRACKER JACK BOX.. .AFTER A BUNCH OF SCHMALTZY BROADWAY STUFF I COULD BARELY FORWARD FAST ENOUGH COMES THIS THIS TALL DROP DEAD GORGEOUS BRECK GIRL IN A BLACK TUX , SINGING " MAN OF LA MANCHA." TWO NOTES GOT ME HOOKED!!! IT SIMPLY SHOWCASES LINDA.. I SWORE I HEARD TWO NOTES TWO OCTAVES APART COME OUT OF THOSE PIPES. I KEPT REWINDING AND STILL HAVENT COME TO MY SENSES..
I REALLY HATED BROADWAY MUSICALS. ESPECIALLY MAN OF LA MANCHA..SO WHO NEW I COULD BE A CONVERT?
ITS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR..NOW..IVE GOT EVERYTHING OF LINDA'S INCLUDING ALL THE KARAOKE.THERE ARE FIVE KARAOKE DISCS..MORE THAN STREISAND.
I HEAR SHE RECORDED IT PREGNANT OR AFTER RUNNING A MARATHON..OR BOTH..ANYWAY NOTHING SURPRISES AFTER READING ABOUT HER ON HER SITE. SHE IS ALL THAT..SHE IS DAYLIGHT..TO A SUN STARVED GIRL SUFFERING CHICAGO . IM A FLORIDIAN..SHE HELPS A LOT..

YOU CANT SAY THIS ABOUT LINDA. SHE IS THE MOST CHALLENGING.. 24 BAR LONG BELTING ENDINGS..THE CRESCENDO.THERE ARE AT LEAST 20 PEOPLE LIVING IN THERE..SHE HAS SOUL. I HAVE SAID SHES THE GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIME..TO A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WHO WONT INSTITUTIONALIZE ME.
SHE ALSO HAS EXCELLENT TASTE IN SONGS. THEY ARE ALL ANTHEMS.

IM BACK TO SINGING AND EVEN BOUGHT A CRIMSON MISS UNIVERSE GOWN TO GO SEE HER VALENTINES DAY FOR MY TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY LIMO -THE WORKS..GOING ON A CRUISE FIRST. WONT BE AS MEMORABLE AS SEEING LINDA. THANKS LINDA. THIS BEATS FRONT ROW CELINE IN VEGAS..YOU WITH CHICAGO POPS VALENTINES..MY TWENTIETH.
"ANTHEM" IS MY SONG TO MY LITTLE 14 YEAR OLD BRAT..KEEPS PERSPECTIVE AS SHE APPLIES ANOTHER LAYER OF BLACK POLISH TO HER NAILS AND LIPS. I BOUGHT MICHEAL BALL'S VERSION -HES YUMMY BUT LINDA STOLE THE SONG.
EDELWEISS TO CALM THE FRAZZLED FORTIES. DORKY SONG ORIGINALY,NOW ITS A LULLABY JAZZ TUNE YOGA. DORKY NO MORE...SHE COULD PROBABLY SING THE TELEPHONE BOOK.
ANOTHER SONG ,ON THE STREET WHERE YOU LIVE ALSO GAVE ME THE CREEPS IN THE MOVIE ..NOW I SING IT EVERY DAY..SHES QUITE AN EVANGELIST..I WAS SOLD..WASNT EVEN IN THE MARKET FOR A "NEW LIFE"
BUT THERE IT WAS..AND "IN A VERY UNUSUAL WAY" SHES MADE ME WHOLE.
ANYWAY..SHES THE GREATEST VOCAL INSTRUCTOR IVE EVER HAD..AND IVE HAD EM ALL. SINCE HER I FEEL I HAVE TOUCHED THE "GOLD"
NOW THERE IS AN ANTHEM.
SHE EVEN SOLD ME ON OPERA.. WHICH I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO TAKE.
VOLE ANGE IS ON STORYBOOK.
AND AM CONSIDERING RUNNING A MARATHON (ONE MILE A DAY ..LETS BE REAL )TO GET IN THE SHAPE NEEDED TO SING THESE KILLER SONGS. KEEP GOING FOR THE GOLD..

Description of Broadway, My Way
On the eagerly awaited Broadway My Way, Atlantic recording artist and acclaimed Broadway sensation Linda Eder performs classics including 'On the Street Where You Live' (from My Fair Lady), 'Edelweiss' (from The Sound of Music), 'Don't Rain On My Parade' (from Funny Girl) and 10 other great broadway songs performed in a whole new voice. 2003.The people who felt betrayed when Linda Eder covered several pop songs on 2002's Gold will be relieved that her follow-up, Broadway My Way, is a return to the Great White Way. As if to prove that she isn't limited to either the songs of Frank Wildhorn or ballads, Eder tackles some well-known show tunes. The ballads tend to be overwrought, so it's best to look for the uptempo numbers. The singer's take on "Some People" is technically fine but so va-va-voom showbiz that it lacks the deranged edge that makes the song so compellingly dramatic. Things work a lot better on "I Am What I Am": while Eder doesn't take it to the top (or rather over the top), this is as close as she gets to Mermanizing a number. Elsewhere, "Don't Rain on My Parade" (immortalized by Streisand) and "Man of La Mancha" are appropriately brassy and triumphant, with Eder roaring her way through both songs. Fans of both Eder and Wildhorn should note that the singer reprises her Svengali's "Gold," the title track from her previous album, and an excerpt from his long-in-the-works Camille Claudel. --Elisabeth Vincentelli
