Music Reviews of Let Yourself GoMusic Review: I love it! It's a must-have! Rating: 5 Stars
Kristin Chenoweth has an incredible talent, and this cd really shows it off. I love all of the songs. I absolutely adore Kristin Chenoweth and I can't say enough about how wonderful this album is. Her range is incredible; her skills unmatched. I've spent many hours trying to sing "The Girl in 14G" the way Kristin does, and let me tell you it is no easy task, even for someone like myself who was blessed with a pretty decent range. Even if you don't like the music on this cd, you have to have respect for Kristin's talent after hearing this- I think it would be impossible not to.
Music Review: This cd sure had a great voice, but a poor choice of music Rating: 2 Stars
I have read many wonderful things about this young actress. When I first heard of this new cd, I was real excited with the thought of buying it. Well the verdict is in, the voice is great, but the song selection is not. If only K.C. could have choosen better material.I can find no fault with K.C.s' voice. Ii is in top form. I think she has a signifianct future. She will probably be another Barbara S. I really believe she has that great talent. I just wish she would try to please us, her fans with better cds. Well, until something better comes along, i'm your slave, Kristin!
Music Review: One of the best ever! Rating: 5 Stars
Do I mean the best album or the best singer? You are correct if you said both! I saw Kristin Chenoweth on a PBS show "Broadway's Best at the Pops," (though it was not the first time I had heard her) and decided to check out the offerings here. This is a collection of the kind of music and performances I love. She has a great range, a precise pitch, and a great style that is at the same time true to the music and to herself. In an era when singers try to outdo each other re-interpreting the composer's original work, not usually with great success, she is a blessing!
Music Review: Negative reviewers; enough is enough! Rating: 5 Stars
If you flip through the reviews on this page, you'll notice that someone has been going through and repeatedly marking every single positive review of this recording as "not helpful". Ok, we get it already! You don't like the dang CD! Your opinion has been duly noted, now move on to something else! Regardless of what this person thinks, this is a wonderful CD, and my previous remarks stand. Now run along and go low-rate some CDs that really deserve it, like practically anything in the current top 40.......
Music Review: Has its moments Rating: 4 Stars
After watching Candide endlessly and going to see Ms. Chenoweth in The Apple Tree, I was hungry for something more portable to listen to. At times this fits the bill, but what surprised me the most is how thin her voice comes across on this recording. Perhaps it was the joy of seeing her live that has ruined this listener; perhaps I need to upgrade my aging music system. Then again, maybe the recording is just not as good as Ms. C singing Bernstein or as good as staring at Ms. C command a Broadway stage.
