Music Review: Les, Les, Les....where have you gone Les? Please come back!

Sorry to ruin your curve here all you 4 and 5 star people, but all I can really say is that you all must be as eccentric has Les has gotten! You remind me of the people who would rather listen to a black man sitting on a stool in the 1930s-40s than Stevie Ray Vaughn or Buddy Guy (i.e. Blues "Purists"). Me, I'll take early Primus (or AntiPop... GREAT album), Oysterhead or Bucket of Bernie Brains over this ANYDAY!
Being a Primus fan for 20 years I have always enjoyed Les Claypool in all his incarnations, including Oysterhead, Frog Brigade and Bucket of Bernie Brains (and have seen him live so many times I've lost count). And yes, I liked Purple Onion, Holy Mackerel and Sausage too. In fact I like ALL Claypool, except Whales and this!
With these last two albums.... he's lost me. When I first heard he'd finally ditched Gabby La La I was happy, and hopeful that he'd again produce some music I could enjoy. But come on Les.....THIS is the result?!? If this is the direction you are going to continue going in I won't even bother with your next, purely solo, release.
Yeah, I know you wanna go off and do your own thing, "make music for music's sake", but there comes a point where you become a little to eccentric for your own good. I personally thought you crossed that line on your last album but at least Whales and Woe had 2 decent songs (One Better and Filipino Ray), this thing doesn't even have that one single song that sometimes makes a bad album worthwhile!
The only one that even comes close is "Bite Out of Life", but why bother with it when there's so much else out there to spend my time with. Oh - and Ol Roscoe is amusing, lyric wise, but again, I don't see myself listening to it often. I didn't think I would EVER see/hear myself use Les Claypool and sucks in the same sentence (except the 1st Primus of course)
So how about it Les, throw a bone to those of us who have been with you since the beginning, those of us who had Suck On This on Vinyl, and miss the old Les Claypool. Or do we have to just give up and wait on the next (promised) Oysterhead or Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains CDs?
And I'm not alone, my 3 friends who have also been listening to Les since Primus was Todd Huth and Jay Lane also think it sucks. Sorry (and I have been criticized before for not liking this side of Les), but that's my opinion. So all you shallow, thin-skinned whining little maggots out there who can't tolerate opposing opinions go ahead and bash me.....unlike you....I can take it.

2009 release from the Bass playing legend and leader of Primus. Since his last album release, 2006's Of Whales and Woe, Les has been busy with his films, scoring other people's films, scoring video games and just having fun out on tour. This album is a collection of songs inspired by the projects he has been working on over the past few year.
