Music Review: Have to break into the love fest...

This is a nice CD for Cohen fans, but this is not the White Album II.
Aside from his few "hits" of the 1960s from his first album or two, there's
only a few new songs here that are worth much. Cohen is adept at vague poetic imagery, but not a master poet or songwriter. Most of his albums were full of bunk. Besides, this man is not some saint, he's as guilty of sin and waywardness as anyone. I found this album the same as his first; with an intriguing luster, but largely vapid, tinged with self-righteousness. Cohen excels at concealing himself and meaning in his lyrics, which in the end defies high craftsmanship.
