Music Review: A Very Cool Trip

Wonderfully rich and deeply environmental. Listening to "Cinematic" feels like looking at the world through a very long lens: things are seen in tiny detail but viewed from very far away. Like snatches of the world seen from a moving train, Mr. Uner's music is both emotional and detatched. This is abstract film making at its best -- a conjuring of images not so much of story but of emotional context. One feels the coldness of a wet stone street or the flush of shade as a cloud suddenly passes in front of the sun. The unusual instrumentation is visceral transportation into neighborhoods where one might not normally go thereby making the whole experience a very cool trip.
