Music Review: Kim's Music is the 8th World Wonder

This version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" far exceeds the one she sang on AI. Her rendition is truly one of my favorites. I'm really picky about this song, but she nails it this time. Everyone tries to sing it, but few actually succeed in matching Judy Garland's version. Garland's performance is still my favorite. Although, I can now add Kim Locke to the short list of others that can actually sing this song exceptionally well. There aren't many.

"8th World Wonder" is a pleasant surprise. It's not what you would typically expect from her powerful voice, but it proves that she is versatile. The song is somewhere between Pop/Rock/Country and is up-tempo. But I can still tell that it's Kim singing, so the song works very well for her. I only wish that the background music had been scaled back so that I could hear Kim's voice more, but I'm not complaining. It's still a good, fun, catchy song. Many girls wish they could find a guy that's an "8th World Wonder," so it's like the perfect fairy tale.

I would definitely recommend "8th World Wonder/Somewhere over the Rainbow" for those that are fans of Kim, and for those that are just discovering her. RCA/J missed out on Kim. And, yes, they really missed this one. I don't want you to do the same. Buy it. You'll enjoy listening for a long time.
