Music Review: great music, bad decision

To get the Best of Kansas, buy all the albums. They are always brilliant, always fascinating. But this album (and the earlier release of this CD) was the ONLY place in the universe you could get the last song John Elefante wrote and sang during his stint with Kansas. PERFECT LOVER is a great cut, and now you can't get it *anywhere*. Sure there are two extra cuts on this release of the CD, but you can get those elsewhere. I've been KANSAS fans for over 20 years.They had ups and downs.I think this CD is a best introductory for the beginner for AMERICAN PROGRESSIVE ROCKS.This band's pop sides are strongly stressed in this hit collection.If you are a DIEHARD fans KANSAS,dig another fulllength albums.So many long time complex pieces are omitted here.This GREAT BAND can't be told with only this CD.This is a good main gate for the AMERICAN PROG-ROCK SEEKERS.Music Review: Kansas doesn't rule, the dominate!

I am getting older.I am finding that I prefer intelligent music.Music that not only gets your body moving, but also gets you thinking.Kansas delivers both.From the poetic "Masque" (my favorite),to the wild mind shattering "Freaks of Nature"especially "Black fathom four"..I have not found a band that can top them.Can't wait for the next cd.I know they won't dissapoint,they never have.Listen to the words.Music Review: Kansas doesn't rule, they dominate!

In the '80s, I heard a few songs by Kansas, but never became a devoted fan. My mistake. After putting this CD into my car stereo, I really didn't want to arrive at my destination. I just wanted to finish hearing all of the songs.
Carry on Wayward Son, Dust in the Wind and Point of No Return are three that I can listen to over and over without ever getting enough.
Kerry Livgren rocks!
