Music Review: This Guy Is The Fa Shizzle!

Phenomenon?
K. Young's album, Learn How To Love has been released! For a limited time, it will include a DVD of his video, When The Smoke Settles. This album is great because an eight year old can listen to it, as well as an eighty year old. It has something for everyone!
Unfortunately, it does contain some rap. But who's album doesn't these days. Even (almost 50 year old) Michael Jackson uses rap on all of his albums. I'm just not a very big fan of today's rap music. K Young is a sigh of relief, though. Not everyone mercilessly sings or raps about bashing someone's head in, getting drunk, getting laid, or getting high. Some of today's music is very inappropriate for radio. Leave a little to the imagination, will you guys?
Anyway, K Young does just that. It's fresh, clean, wonderful, as well as powerful. This young man can write and really saaaang!
I do understand that artists must appeal to today's generation. But I also feel that there is a generation that still likes Usher, Elvis Costello, Lindsay Lohan, Anita Baker, Brian McKnight, and David Sanborn all together. I mean...I have actually met some very young "old souls" out there. I think that K. Young appeals to those old souls. The music sounds great, the lyrics are great, and the voice is astounding.
I'm not at all saying that this guy is going to replace Usher. But I think he's just as good as Usher and I do think he'll be just as popular. He's even a great writer. He's written songs for B2K, Mariah Carey and for a few movies.
Who is K. Young?
For those of you who don't know who K. Young is..... Ken Pratt is the original lead singer of the group, third story. His name was Lil man at the time and he was about ten or eleven years old. His background in singing is of course, Gospel. He's from Los Angeles and plays drums as well as guitar. I've also read that he has dated Raven Simone for some years now.
He has a superstar family. His mom is a Gospel recording artist and writer and his sisters are both Gospel singers. One of his sisters, Kenisha Pratt, has even written and produced for Brandy and Toni Braxton.
The point is, K. Young has the experience, the talent, the moves, the looks, and definitely the voice for the next superstar phenomenon. Judging from this great album, that will probably happening real soon! One of the song's, Together is recorded twice, one with a Reggae type beat. I thought it was great! One is for bouncing your head to in the car, and one is for dancing to.
Anyway, the album is available on Yahoo Music, Barnes & Noble's, Wal-Mart, and alot of other stores. What I found interesting, was that the CD is available on more international websites than American. Anyway, it's great. I think if you're looking for a fresh voice with great music, you should try K. Young's Learn How To Love.
