Music Review: One of Judy Collins' Best!

Judy Collins has always been one of my favorite singers. I think my first album of hers was "Judith" and I quickly fell in love with her voice and style of music. "Bread and Roses" was her follow up album to "Judith" and I remember the excitement I felt when I originally bought the LP. I liked the album as a 15 year old boy but I love the album now. I think by far my favorite cut on this CD is "King David." Both Miss Collins' voice and the orchestral arrangement are absolutely exquisite. I hadn't listened to this album in years and when I discovered it was finally coming out on CD last year (along with many other of Miss Collins' recordings) I immediately purchased it. When I listened to all of the tracks, I listened with a renewed sense of wonder and excitement; this CD is far better than I remembered it, particularly "King David." I also love "I Didn't Know About You" (again, I love the arrangement and Miss Collins' voice is beautiful as always) and "Take This Longing" (I believe Miss Collins was and is the best interpreter of Leonard Cohen's remarkable poetry and melodies).
This is one of my favorite Judy Collins albums and if you're a fan of Judy Collins you must buy this! The only drawback (as mentioned by another reviewer) is that the transfer to CD is not as good as it could be.
