Music Review: A Feast of Priest

I finally bought Metalogy, Judas Priest's four disc box set collection, and boy am I glad I did. I got the original packaging, which is made to look like a black leather box, complete with metal studs on all sides. The original package also includes a bonus DVD of a show originally broadcast on MTV back in 1982.
Song selection is great. Disc one includes selections from the Rocka Rolla through Stained Class albums, as well as some live versions that are either unreleased or from limited edition promo discs. Disc two covers the band's breakthrough recordings, Hell Bent for Leather and British Steel, with generous selections of songs from both albums as well as a couple from Screaming for Vengeance. Disc three has a bunch of songs from Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith, as well as a few from Turbo. Disc four covers Ram it Down through Demolition.
Sound quality is really good. The remastering appears to be unique to this set and sounds superior to the 2001 remastered albums or the "Essential" 2 disc collection that came out in 2006. Top this off with a nice booklet filled with photos and essays about the band and you have a collection that is among the best box sets in rock music.
