Music Review: Excellent Piece/Pieza Excelente

The best of this Latin music genius has just begun. Very uplifting songs with a great message. It is a precious jewel that reveals the spiritual side of one of the best songwriters, composers and performers I 've ever listened to in his genre. I hope his fans will appreciate the sincere and true value of Juan Luis Guerra as a Godly person interwoven in every song of this CD. Sometimes when a great artist starts expressing who they really are and their innermost devotion, some people get "turned off" by this. I assure you, there is not loss of the great poetry and the skill to communicate to the listeners at the level of one of the most basic needs of any human being, the spiritual one.
Just to comment on one of the songs:
"Las Avispas": One of the best 'merengues' I've ever listened to; he is able to convey the Christian message thru a very fun way. He uses the image of the wasps stinging people as God's way of protection, absolutely creative!. Plus the great music arrangement, it is really difficult not to smile and stay still while listening to it.
My wife and my children even dance with me in our family time while listening this CD. The one-year old starts clapping and moving his feet when I play the CD.

Lo mejor de este genio de la musica Latina apenas comienza. Canciones motivadores con un gran mensaje. Es una joya que revela el lado espiritual de uno de los mejores escritores, compositores e interpretes que haya escuchado en su genero. Espero que sus aficionados aprecien la sinceridad y verdadero valor de Juan Luis Guerra como hombre de Dios entretejido en cada cancion de este CD. Algunas personas tienden a sentir cierto grado de decepcion cuando un gran artista de renombre comienzan a revelar en sus interpretaciones qienes ellos realmente son y su mas interna devocion. Les aseguro no hay devaluacion en este CD de la gran poesia y la habilidad de Juan Luis de comunicarse con sus escuchas en uno de los niveles mas basicos de cualquier ser humano, el espiritual.
Solo para comentar en una de las canciones:
"Las Avispas" es uno de los mejores merengues que haya escuchado. El demuestra su habilidad de transmitir el mensaje Cristiano de una forma entretenida.El usa la figura de las avispas como un metodo de proteccion de parte de Dios, absolutamente creativo. Mas el gran arreglo musical, es dificil no sonreir y permanecer tranquilo mientras se escucha esta cancion.
Mi esposa e hijos inclusive bailan conmigo en nuestro tiempo de familia cuando escuchamos este CD. Nuestro bebe de un año comienza a aplaudir y mover sus pies cuando pongo el CD.
El CD es grandioso, lo recomiendo

GUERRA JUAN LUIS PARA TISinger/songwriter Juan Luis Guerra applies his tropical big band magic on Christian-themed tunes on this CD but the result is the same--infectious rhythms that induce dance fever. Guerra's strength has always been his seamless blend of the spicy salsa and carnivalesque merengue rhythms and layering the music with elaborate vocal and horn arrangements to produce irresistible melodies. Guerra penned all 12 songs here; thay all deal thematically with God and devotion. Highlights include "Eres," which blends blues sentiment and gospel fever. Crisp piano and powerful horns drive the title track and "Las Avispas," a tune about walking with renewed confidence.
