Music Review: Tip of the Iceberg

This is a great record. Joy Division is the one of the best bands ever, period. This is an excellent starter to get into Joy Division. It's a great record also. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm not a big fan of compilations. The disc is packed with great songs taken from all points in Joy Division's short career. The problem is the band advances it's sound so rapidly from it's first songs to there last. It comes off sounding a little choppy to me. If you really want to experience Joy Division at their most powerful listen to "Unknown Pleasures" (The 2nd best record of all time)and "Closer" (The best record of all time). This is not to say that Joy Division don't have good individual songs (They do and in spades!!). Joy Division are best when listened to in a full album.
