Music Review: A Mixed Bag

Purchasing one of the "Extended Versions" discs is always a bit of an adventure, as one never knows what to expect. Some are quite good, while others are simply dreadful. This is a rather interesting mixture of live tracks from different eras. For example, there are tracks from "Johnny Winter And...Live" and "Johnny Winter Captured Live", which were recorded with different lineups a few years apart. This one, then, is something of a musical collage. It's not bad, but not great, either. For serious Johnny Winter fans, most (if not all) these tracks are already in their collections; however, for the new fan, it presents a fairly decent sampler of Johnny's live work.
