Music Review: Hardly "Definitive" of Mr. Cash

If the label was more honest and stated that this is the Definitive Mercury Recordings (or re-recordings)of the late 80s-early 90s then I would not be offended by this package
To the uninformed they might think they are getting some early and late period Johnny Cash. Not So Here. The early songs are re-recorded and they are not improvements as the songs are over-produced as only the 80s can over-produce a simple song.
Avoid. Unless you are a Johnny Cash completist or just want to hear the best of his music after Columbia and before his reinvention with American Records than this is all you need.
If you think you are getting true "Definitive" Johnny Cash then you have seriously errored.
File this under shameless Rip-Off.
