I purchased this CD recently after discovering, quite by surprise, that it was the only one of Jonn Serrie's masterful works not already in my collection... I had taken a hiatus from the New Age stuff for awhile as I slowly drifted back into the Baroque Classics that will always be the mainstay of my collection... This CD made me realize, however, that I had been away from New Age much too long...I read where one reviewer had said: "Nothing new here", and perhaps that's exactly why I couldn't quit listening to this CD when I received it... This work is so very characteristic of the genre that Jonn Serrie help make famous... Unobstrusive yet compelling, haunting yet beautiful, mysterious yet joyful... If not the best of Serrie's work, certainly one of his top five...
If you are one of the few who has not yet experienced the power and beauty of Jonn Serrie's work, this would be as good a starting point as any... If you're a collector of his work but like me, somehow missed this one, your collection is not yet complete until you have this masterful work of New Age pioneer Jonn Serrie...
No, beauty is not always something new, but like all the classics, it is something that can be appreciated over and over and over again... Excellent!
