Music Review: One of the best John Denver albums ever!

John Denver in concert was John Denver at his best, and this is my favorite of his concert recordings. He sounds wonderful and the selection of music is a nice mix of old favorites and less well known songs. The show as performed at The Harbor Lights Pavilion in Boston in September of 1995. For JD fans, the voice tracks are as much fun as the music. In some ways his music and humor in this concert hark back to the more risky music he used to do with the Mitchell Trio, with "Spanish Pipe Dream" and "Kissing You Goodbye." His voice has the rich maturity of a man in his 50's and his humor has echoes of the post-second-divorce period of his life. If you haven't listened to John Denver in a long time, this will remind you of why he was one of the greatest recording artists of all time.
