Music Review: Wow!

Just listened to this work - again - I love it. To hear this famous ensemble along with one of the world's great orchestras is sheer joy. The magnificent trumpets of Ron Romm and Jens Lindeman seem throughout the recording to be in a jestful war with each other .. That wonderful sound provided by horn player extraordinaire Christopher Cooper provides warmth, depth, and fine solos throughout the performance .. And picture in your mind's eye one of those superb early 20th century big band trombone soloists and somehow Gene Watts comes floating into the picture - what a sound - love his solo works, especially in the Saint's Hallelujah .. And finally - Chuck Dallenbach and his amazing tuba. This man has probably done more to expand interest in that instrument than than anyone else ever. He provides a deep warm-sound foundation throughout this recording.
The obvious excitement shown by the live performance audience there in that hub of Polish culture tells the story best. They were obviously very much blown away by this performance, and then some.
Just read through this and realized that I come across as if I were the Canadian Brass marketing cheerleader. Sorry about that. I just get all excited when I hear a recording that really turns me on.
