I must say that this disc floored me. I own the EP version that has the acoustic tracks only. Initially, I tried finding it and gave up since it was import only. After talking to Lamb member Louise Rhodes backstage after a show and making comparisons between British and American music, she confirmed this was a must have. I ordered it directly from Dorado records shortly after. It is a true gem that showcases Jhelisa to be a varied and multifaceted artist. It seems the Anderson clan has music coursing through their veins given cousin Carleen Anderson's recordings. This album transforms even the most danceable tracks from "Galactica Rush" into sublime pieces of acoustic soul. Carleen even does backgrounds on two tracks. Check the soul revamp of "Friendly Pressure"! Sure Maysa did a cover but after hearing this version it is clear that Jhelisa will forever own this song. This albums acoustic ruminations are also the precursor to her proper follow-up "Language Electric". Jhelisa is just an amazing vocalist. Her ability to stretch, layer vocals and harmonies distinguish her from many of your average flavor of the month pop and r&b singers. Her solo LP's along with contributions to A.P.E.'s country-tinged spaced out "HoneyDrunkDrool", Block 16's house samba "Find an Oasis" and Da Lata's broken beat "Reeling" she is truly beyond genres. Please release a new full LP soon!!!
