I enjoy this CD in some ways. I find 90% of it to be really relaxing, encouraging, and inspiring. And I agree with the other woman's comments who said it even helps me to sleep when my mind is racing with that hopeful question I ask myself from day 15 on each month: "am I pregnant?"
On the other hand, I find it amazing that the author feels the need to intersperse comments about our "failure," or use words like "barren." She is trying to tell us not to feel like a failure, like we are barren women, and I always feel incredulous upon hearing it.
There apparently is a group of women out there who think of themselves this way, and she is catering to them. But what about the rest of us, who feel fired up about the notion of having a baby, and specifically want someone to stoke that encouragement? This is the second fertility meditation CD I've tried, and the other one was even worse. A friend of mine is also trying to get pregnant and we have a joke about these CDs. They can be DEPRESSING. At least this woman has an uplifting voice. The other woman sounded somber, even morose.
When she talks about letting go of all the pain, the failure, the feelings of being incompetent or barren or blah blah blah, I just tune her out and wait for her to get back to the relevant stuff.
I'd LOVE to hear a CD that only focuses on the positive. I don't want or need anything else right now!
