Music Review: Quite a Bargain, I Think...

I have the original release of the three Rameau Grands Motets (disk 2), but not the Pigmalion. Therefore I won't expatiate much about the genre at this time. I'm planning a full-scale series of reviews of Grands Motets by Lully, Dumont, Desmarest, Momdonville, and of course Rameau. I've already reviewed the wonderful CD of Mondonville performed by Les Arts Florissants.

The three outstanding ensembles performing and recording this distinctive French Baroque music are:
Les Arts Florissants, with William Christie,
Le Concert Spirituel, with Herve Niquet
La Chapelle Royale, with Philippe Herreweghe
All three have particular virtues.
