My 3yo son has been a constant challenge to put to sleep since he was about 12 months old--always screaming and crying, wanting milk, etc. Now, I put on the CD, and he curls up in my arms to rock for the first track. Then when the second track comes on, I put him into bed and tuck him in, and most nights, he falls to sleep on his own listening to the rest of the CD.
