Music Reviews of I'm Not ThereMusic Review: Worth it for one cut Rating: 5 Stars
Buy this album for one cut: the original version of "I'm Not There," performed by Dylan and members of The Band, that ends disc 2. If this were two discs of silence culminating in this song and this performance, it would still be worth every penny, plus shipping.
Music Review: Dylan without The Dead??? Rating: 3 Stars
A very good Dylan cover compilation, don't get me wrong...but how can you really have any kind of a Dylan cover compilation without The Grateful Dead??? For that I can only give it a 3 star.
Next time someone does a Bob movie...include The Dead.
Music Review: One real gem Rating: 4 Stars
One real gem is Please Crawl Out Your Window. A throw-away when Bob did it, but all of Bruce in this version.
As for Dylan covers - He was ALWAYS covered from the start (Byrds, Peter Paul & Mary, Turtles) so what's the big deal.
Music Review: Incredibly good Rating: 5 Stars
What a record!! The songs are not easy and perhaps many of them are not in my list, but the surprise is very good!!! Many blues much better than when performaed by own Dylan. Tombstone Blues with Ritchie Hevens is simply the best!!
Music Review: I'd rather listen to Bob Rating: 2 Stars
As a long-time Dylan fan, I'm always interested in the interpretation of his music by others. Almost always, though, I end up thinking "I'd rather listen to Bob." This collection is really no different.
