Music Review: Ilo hits a home run

Jimmy Buffett walked into a bar and loved what he heard. The end result was that he brought Ilo back to the states with him which is where I heard him several times over the course of the last two
summers. I also saw Ilo at to of his own solo shows last summer which had me anxiously awaiting this CD. Ilo Ferreira is an incredibly talented musician and I haven't taken this cd out of my player since receiving it. There are no skippable songs, although "I'm Home Again," "Back to You" and the title track "Gather People Together" certainly stand out as the best to me. Regardless
of whether you're a parrothead or not, you must buy Ilo's debut album so you can always say you knew him
way back when!

Description of Gather People Together
Ilo was discovered by Jimmy Buffett and some of his friends in Cape Verde, off the coast of West Africa. Ilo is a gifted singer/guitarist, and has spent the last 3 years touring the US, playing small clubs and big stadiums, from Boston to Bonnaroo, the bars of Chicago to the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Ilo will be touring with Jimmy this spring and summer. Fellow Coral Reefers Bill Payne, Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer, Robert Greenidge, and Ralph McDonald are on this CD The CD was produced by Tony Brown, Mac McAnally, Chris Blackwell, and Will Kimbrough. This is truly a "World" CD, recorded in Cape Verde, The Caribbean, Key West, and Nashville. The music is totally international, with Rock, Pop, Country, and Portuguese.Country CDs
