Music Review: Strong, skilled and worth checking out

This is a stronger release than some records in its vein, and Hudson Mohawke's chops are fierce. Also HM's range here is nice without being too left-field (which is kind of funny when you think how left-field this whole genre of music is). All that said, Hm's released better tracks on EPs and such, so when I came to this full-album effort I was left wanting a little. Sure, there are a few really strong tracks on here: "3.30" is bouncy and crunchy at once, "Gluetooth" has a nice groove going and even a vocal track like "Just Decided" isn't without its charms. But nothing on here pounds like previously released track "Overnight", which appears on an earlier EP.
You can pick and choose on this one and score, but the whole album is probably best left for fans.
