Music Reviews of Have A Nice Decade: The '70s Pop Culture BoxMusic Review: A great compilation from a great music era Rating: 5 Stars
My husband bought me this CD collection for Christmas knowing that I was a 70's music addict...he couldn't have bought a better gift. These CD's include all the great songs of the era I grew up in...I can still remember most of the words. It is great to have all that music on one set of CD's...I just load up the CD player and go...I'm transported back to my teen years!!
Music Review: Worthy of it's Grammy nomination Rating: 5 Stars
Fantastic collection of hits from established acts and one hit wonders. It has literally been decades since I've heard these tunes. Less emphasis here on the novelty tunes than is found on the single CDs, but enough of them to bring a smile. If you grew up listening to the radio in the Seventies, guaranteed you'll know and love every song in this collection.
Music Review: Blast from the past! Rating: 4 Stars
I grew up in Massachusetts listening to the music on these CDs. It's nice to have them all compiled for me. Definitely worth the purchase price. I loved the accompanying booklet that "biographed" each song and artist. One drawback, some of the songs seem to end abruptly instead of fading out to the end. Hmm...?? Minus a star for that, otherwise I'm pleased.
Music Review: A PLATINUM ENTRY Rating: 4 Stars
I looked around for days trying to find LOVE GROWS, then stumbled across the craziest of notions: Just punch up "70s". It was the first one! Listening to old music from the past is like traveling in time. One can actually smell the roses. LOVE GROWS was a big hit in 1970 - the same year my cousin was shot in the jungle of Vietnam. Darling.
Music Review: Good, but a repeat Rating: 4 Stars
Time-Life's AM Gold offers much the same selection as this collection does, but the 70s box is considerably more affordable. Worth buying and full of memories, from Edison Lighthouse, Fleetwood Mac, the Partridge Family, Barry White, Diana Ross..the list goes on. Some hard-to-find tunes that you won't hear even on the oldies station
