Music Review: Invaluable for teaching young children music

This CD is amazing - I am a preschool/Pre-K music teacher and my kids love this CD and ask to do songs on it repeatedly! They especially love "The Mice Go Marching" - they love the monster part of the song.
They not only enjoy the songs on this CD but they learn a lot about music and rhythm. They learn to interpret basic rhythmic patterns with ease because the songs are designed to make it fun and easy to be successful.
This CD is very well done and good to listen to as well - I have found a lot of preschool CDs tend to sound all the same and are poorly done - and almost unbearable for adults to listen to. This CD is very well done and Hap Palmer's voice is a pleasure to listen to - even for adults. The instruments and sound effects used in the CD are varied and make the songs interesting and fun.
This is a must for any music teacher or preschool teacher - the accompanying CD booklet gives lesson plan ideas for each song and explains how to teach the song - you don't have to be a music teacher to teach this CD effectively, but music teachers will absolutely love it.

THIS IS NOT PART OF ALBUM DESCRIPTION, I JUST HAVE A QUESTION: How do I add song samples?Rhythms on Parade, a revised and expanded version of an earlier album, is one of Palmer's most inspired collections. Catchy tunes encourage kids to sing, play, and march along, while Palmer skillfully uses pitch, tempo, and rhythm to reinforce his lyrics. In "Roller Coaster," for instance, tempo and pitch vary to conjure an image of a roller coaster slowly climbing a hill and then rushing down the other side. Palmer sounds comfortable using a wide variety of sounds (including a children's chorus, percussion, keyboards, strings, and woodwinds) in a number of styles (ballads, jitterbugs, and country, among others), which should delight most any child. Rhythms on Parade is an easily accessible study of rhythm that will leave both parent and child humming long after the music stops. --Tami Horiuchi
