I believe this album is slowly turnig into some sort of cult. The prices (over $100) are ridiculous high and are justified only for collectors. However, I do admit I purchased this CD for about [...] bucks (used!!). Nonetheless, I must further aknowledge this is one of the best CD's I've ever bought. This is a masterpiece combining some of the best of Hans Zimmker, and is not at all "soft" in style as many of his movie soundtracks. This album really set the ground for scores such as that of Disney's "The Lion King" and are a true masterpiece blending true traditional african style with a punch of western acoustics. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I think there is only one song on the CD which I don't fully appreciate yet (No. 5, if you're wondering). Otherwise, every single piece is outstanding. I don't know if it is worth [...] bucks, but I can tell you this is not an easy album to find and if you enjoy african music you'll definitely like this. I've found similar styles in the South African Soweto gospel Choir, but if I had to link this with any other album, I'd definitely relate it to the soundtrack of The Lion King, only that this is in a more "pure" version (more faithful to the African musical origins perhaps). This is a great soundtrack and one of the best CDs I have ever purchased.
