Music Review: Again, I could probably justify four stars here...

A pretty handy compilation of sonics, this covermount CD was given away free with issue 120 of Classic Rock magazine and consequently there is the possibility that the vendor scored it for free, so don't part with too much of your hard earned for it.

Now that the public service bit of the review is out of the way it's time to delve into the music. And indeed there are a raft of decent tunes on offer here, this compilations intent seeming to sally forth with breezy summer rockin' tunes. So we get some Def Leppard and Whitesnake (one song each of their then new albums), a funky Glenn Hughes number, rockers from Magnum and Uriah Heep - cos hey, CR magazine is from the UK right? - and full bodied rawk from 'kind of' newcomers Stone Gods and Heavens Basement, both of which will get your foot tapping. Teenage Revolution by Hanoi Rocks sounds pretty twee but it's made up for by more cerebral stuff like Opeth.

As I say, certainly a good freebie compilation however whether you'd pay for this just to get these tunes is unlikely in this disposable/downloadable age.
