Music Review: Wish I was at the concert!!!

I've been a Gretchen Peters fan since her first album, "The Secret Of Life", came out on Imprint Records in the '90's the first time. She's written some killer material for other performers over the years ("Independence Day" for Martina McBride, and "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" for Patty Lovelace, among others), and she's managed to even save a few of her signature songs for herself, like "When You Are Old", which closes this live concert disc. Her read of Paul Simon's "American Tune" is nothing short of being the best recording of the song ever made available, in my humble opinion. Why this woman is not a star of the first magnitude is an abomination. I suppose it has something to do with youth being served, but Taylor Swift, as cute as she may be, has all the depth of a wading pool, and after she ages and wrinkles, she will be forgotten, and rightfully so. Gretchen, on the other hand, will have a songwriting legacy of which she can be proud, and I'm sticking with that.
