Music Review: Worth the Effort to Find

I first experienced Greg & Steve when I worked in a family daycare while in college for education. We had many children's albums from which to choose. This particular one was an absolute favorite with the children AND the staff. The music is extremely kid-friendly while, at the same time, fun for the adults who care for them. The "Good Morning" song is an excellent way to set the mood for the day. I found myself playing it when I needed a boost, as well. "Listen and Move" is excellent for helping children follow directions, develop gross motor skills, and develop a discriminating ear.
It was a true joy to watch the children develop their own styles of self-expression while they danced to the songs on this album. This album, far more than any other we had, got the children up, moving,and INVOLVED with the music. With many other children's CDs, I found the children just continued to play with their toys with the music in the background.
When I tried to buy my own copy, I discovered the CD was out of production (it's from the 70s). I went out of my way to find a copy and I'm so glad I did. It is on loan to my 3-year-old niece and she fell in love with it instantly. I can't wait to use it with my own children someday.
(I also have volume 1, which is good, but not nearly as good as volume 2.)
