Music Review: Okay stuffs from a band a I loved

First of all, I need to tell a bit about my experience as a music listener. I have grown up listening to 80s rock music back in mid 80s to mid90s and used to listen 3-4 hours of music everyday. Great White was one of my favorite rock bands during that period. Now a days, I only listen to music mostly when I am driving (to and from work/groecy/weekend long drive etc). I am tired of listening to Radio's and older CDs (materials I have) and so I buy new CDs once in a while. I like to listen to newer stuffs from 80s band. Lately I have been listening newer stuffs from Scorpions, Judas Priest, Dokken, Malmsteen, Foreigner and so, one of these days, when I noticed Great White's new album Rising, I didn't hesitate to grab it right away.
I know and remember quite well that Great White is a blues rock band and their first song of this album just reminded me once again what type of music I can expect from them. "Situation" is a good blues rock stuff, however, I didn't find any scream and howl/growl from their vocalist which was very common (and nice to hear) from their earlier stuffs (I understand they are not in their 20s/30s anymore, they have grown older). Sames goes for all the songs. The songs are nice, sounds a lot like older stuffs, but that GW's trademark screaming is missing. The second song "All Or Nothing" is a nice one to listen. The third song "I Don't Mind" sounded like a missing B side track of Led Zeppelin. I still think Jack Russell is the only vocalist who sounds a lot similar to Robert Plant. Trust me guys, if you hear this song - I don't mind - and no one tells you who the artist is, you might think its an old Led Zeppelin track.
The next song "Shine" is my favorite from this album. Very smooth and beutiful song .. reminds me about the 'highway nights' song .. but anyway, good one. Other good songs from this albums are "Loveless", "My Sanctuary" and "Danger Zone". This "Danger Zone" sounds completely different from any other songs of this album. Here Jack sounds like Axl Rose of GNR. This song sounds a lot like "you could be mine" of GNR (but lot slower than that :-) ).
Anyway, I think this album was 'okay' if you compare it with older Great White stuff. Otherwise, it is a good album. You won't find anything here like 'rock me' or 'save your love' or 'mista bone', but lot of nice songs to listen to.
