Music Review: Good Charlotte

When I heard that Good Charlotte was releasing a new CD I was really excited. I Love The Young and the Hopeless, which if it was a tape, I would have destroyed it by listening to it so many times! I knew ahead of time that it was a different kind of sound than The Young and the Hopeless because the whole band was writing the songs this time, instead of just Joel and Benji. So I bought the CD and I was very excited. These are my ratings and thoughts on each song!
1.Once Upon A Time: The Battle of Life and Death:
When I first heard this song, I was like what are they saying? I soon found out that it was a different language, like their last CD they had an introduction too, though I NEVER listen to intro's so I always skip this song because I would rather get to the good songs than just listen to a music I cant even understand.
2.The Chronicles of Life and Death:
When I first heard this song, I liked it! It is a Pop/rock song which is a good beginning to a good CD. Though I barely ever listen to this song, I usually skip it.
3.Walk Away (Maybe):
This song reminds of the old GC which is a good thing, Joel changes up his voice which is good too. I like this song a lot I love to listen to this song when I am just jammin' in my room!
4 .S.O.S:
This is a good song a slow/rock song which REALLY reminds of The Young and the Hopeless this song isn't on my routine though it is a good song, but it sounds like other songs on the CD so it is replaceable.
5.I Just Wanna Live:
I love this song so much! I usually just skip to this song right off the bat! It is a really up- beat song, and I love to dance around to this song! When I first heard this song I thought "What is this!" "Why is Joel Singing like this" but it was catchy and now I love the high pitched voices it's a fun song and my favorite on the track!
6.Ghost of You:
This song is kind of slow and is a good song to listen to when it is raining. It is a good song to relate to, this is one of my songs I listen to often.
7.Predictable:
Yea this was the single so a lot of people will listen to this one which will probably be over played which will ruin everything. But I still listen to it because it is up-beat and a good happy song.
8.Secrets:
This is an up-beat/ rock song which is a good song because it talks about life and you can relate to it like Ghost of You. I like to have this on my play list because it relates to me.
9.The Truth:
This song cracked me up when I heard it for the first time and it still cracks me up now. Joel screams in this song and it makes his voice really deep and REALLY funny. So it is a good slow song and romantic, though it just ruins it for me because Joel sounds so funny in it.
10. The World Is Black:
I love this song so much! It is my favorite song with "I just wanna live". It is upbeat and it is great! If you want to be happy listen to this song!
11.Mountain:
This is an alright song, though Joel screams in this song too so it reminds
me of "Truth" so I don't really like this song, but it isn't horrible.
12.We Believe:
It is a good song, it reminds me the song on the The Young and the Hopeless "emotionless". I listen to this song on my play list because it is slow, but still rocky.
13.It Wasn't Enough:
I love this song! This is my favorite slow song on the CD. It is a great sad song, when you want to just sit by yourself, because it is pop/rocky and it is a good song which relates to everyone.
14.In This World(murder):
I like this song a lot; it has good lyrics, and it rocky, but still a good song to sing along to. I like the message they are saying. LISTEN TO THIS SONG.
15.Falling Away (bonus track for Life CD)
It's a good ending to a good CD because it is a happy and rocky song.

I LOVE this song so much! You must listen to the end of Falling Away because I think it is the best song ever!!!
That is my take on all the songs on The Chronicles of Life and Death. I would say yes some songs are better than The Young and the Hopeless, but I must say I like the sad songs on The Young and the Hopeless than The Chronicles. I Hope you thought I gave you info that got you more informed. But over all YES YOU SHOULD BUY THIS CD.
