Music Review: Amazing Album

One of the earliest memories I have of listening to Robbie Seay was after I bought his last album, Better Days, on a whim, and a friend of mine and I were listening to it on the way home. While I have heard a good amount of Christian music, something about Seay's voice caught my attention. He has such a raw voice, but in a good way instead of a bad way. It kind of gives a sense of reverence and urgency at once, focusing your attention on the words he is singing.
I loved Better Days and greatly anticipated Give Yourself Away. When I got it and listened to it, I wasn't disappointed. Seay's influence from playing with David Crowder for a couple years is evident. His sound seems to be different than other worship leaders, and his lyrics look at our faith from different views that other worship songs partially ignore, opting more for a congregation-based feel. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong about this. This album has more songs on it that could be sung in churches than his last album did. Gems on this album include Song of Hope, Love Wins, Beautiful, Scandalous Night, and Go Outside.
Give this album a try. I took a chance buying his last album, and loved it so much I bought the album before that one, even though I had to search to find it. Robbie Seay has a relaxing, yet honest voice that caught my attention. See if it will catch yours too.
