Music Review: Where Have I Been!?

I not only have the vinyl album, but also the 12" title song single. Unfortunately due to neglect after recording them to cassette back in the 80's (yikes), they're both warped and the cassette is, well, very old. A year hasn't gone by that I didn't listen to this soundtrack. It is a fantastic collection of music and performers.
If you don't know the performers beyond David Bowie, get to know them! They are all extremely talented artists (hmmm, Patsy Kensit?, not so much).
Then get into the music of Gil Evans. He was an amazing jazz producer/director/arranger. He worked most notably with Miles Davis and at the end of his career/life he even did a live cd with Sting that's excellent. He also has an album of entirely Hendrix songs performed by his "Gil Evans Orchestra" which is great. If I recall my knowledge of him correctly, Evans and Jimi Hendrix were going to work together on Hendrix' next album if he hadn't died. Bottom line is that Evans had a very interesting career.
Last word- it's about time I found this CD. I think I stopped looking for it actually. Amazon, in its infinite marketing ability, "recommended" this cd to me. I highly recommend it!
