Music Review: Some people don't understand...

Some people don't understand that this is a live recording and that includes all the warts and bumps that come with it. I am a huge Pavarotti fan and appreciate this recording very much. It is one of my favorite, not because of sound quality but because it gives you an idea of what it must have been like to have been at that performance in Roma.
His interpretation of "Parmi veder" is very unique from all his other recordings, especially his lead in to the high "A". This recording of that aria is my favorite even if the sound quality is not at it's best. To hear the audience applaud and cheer as they only do in Italy is also something to experience. Whether you listen to Pavarotti through a transistor radio are B&W speakers, he still sounds wonderful. His voice was very strong and full in these recordings and the sound quality takes me back to when there were no CD'S. I find myself longing to hear my old LP's of Mozart's "Requiem" instead of the CD's that I have. They seem to me to be more natural. There are jewels to be found in life if you keep an open mind and don't expect perfection.
