Music Review: Alvars concertos are terrific!

This really should be two separate CD releases. The only thing the two CDs have in common is that Marielle Nordmann plays harp on all the recordings. The music on the first CD is recorded in a different venue with a different orchestra than is done on the second CD. The sound on the first CD has much more reverb. Nordman almost sounds as if she is playing in an echo chamber. The sound on the second CD is more conventional. And CD 1 is music by various composers while CD 2 is devoted to works by Elias Parrish Alvars.
I agree with the other reviewer about the Alvars concertos being the highlight. Alvars composed very strong, passionate, unique, imaginative melodies.
