Music Review: better than WWW &...

Personally, I think this live set beats THREE SIDES LIVE, even if 3SL was TECHNICALLY better; the songs on here are better ("mama", "Home By the Sea" and "Domino" hadn't been introduced to the public when 3SL was recorded), the performances are more passionate, and the sound is more full. Phil Collins' voice is a little weak sounding, it took some getting used to, but now that that's over w/, I cannot stop listening to this! It's got spiced up variations of their 70's output, like "In the Cage" and "Afterglow", more emotionally in sync performances of "throwing it all away" and "Ripples", and Collins almost yodels on "Invisible Touch" and "I Can't Dance", oh, and the "conversations with two stools" (formerly known as "Drum Duet") is more "experimental" sounding than ever, especially the first minute or two of it. Me not being one to hold onto CDs just for the heck of it, I think I'll be satisfied with having this be my only Genesis album, although I already own INVISIBLE TOUCH, which has been a part of my life since...dang, over 20 years ago (before I started Kindergarten; so, obviously this isn't written from the perspective of someone who witnessed the beginnings of Genesis...), so I might keep that one, just for reasons I'm not entirely comfortable explaining (it's not quite "nostalgia", but in some ways it sorta is...my emotions have been dulled over the last 5 or so years due to even more years of being medicated for a psychotic disorder, so maybe it WOULD be flat out nostalgia if not for that...).
