Music Review: So great...
Rating: 5 Stars
This is one of my most favorite electronic albums of all time. People often call them some rip-off of Boards of Canada. I think of Boards of Canada as a sort of "balanced" in the IDM field, sweet melodies combined with hard, angular rhythms.
Freescha however is more on the sweeter side, with warm melodies...and say Aphex Twin it's direct opposite. Any fan of IDM-genre must have this album on their desert menu. My favorite track is #5. And the closing track "Whales Wave Goodbye" is such a beautiful piano piece. Even the inner CD artwork, of a beautiful sunset, totally compliments the music. The album makes me think of Care-Bears on a playground...only not as lame.
