Music Review: The most underrated tenor in the world

Forget the three tenors or the latest Latin/Italian sensation, Piotr Beczala is the best tenor singing in the world today. If you liked Fritz Wunderlich, then you'll love Beczala. His lirico spinto singing is melodious, rich and exciting. His top notes are beautiful beyond description and he seems to feel every word that he sings. Sometimes he pushes a little, but never at a risk to the voice, only for dramatic effect (i.e. - Lucia). He is particularly effective in the French repertoire. Listen to his Faust and Werther, which almost rival Alfredo Kraus.
If you buy one album of tenor arias this year make it this one.
