Music Review: Nothing new, but it is Franco Corelli!

Although the music on these CDs does not give us anything new (it has appeared on numerous CDs before), if you are a Corelli fan, you might want to add this package to your collection. There are many "experts" claiming that Corelli's singing is not polished, is coarse, is not stylish, etc. etc. But in my humble opinion there has not been a tenor ever whose voice can make you so much shiver deep inside. Not only by the apparent ease of throwing high Cs at you, but also for instance when his voice fades away very softly at the end of "Celeste Aida" while not dropping a fraction of the high note. See him perform (unfortunately not many "live" performances), but for instance his appearance in Japan shows the outward ease of his singing from low to high and loud to soft, without seeing any efforts on his face. Compare that with other tenors, also the great Pavarotti and even Domingo, and I do not need to say anything more.

The set also includes a recording of "Si Tu M'Aimais" by Luigi Denza that has never been issued either on LP or on CD!
